Our StoryKotka Living is an online retailer and distribution company focusing on natural products. Having both worked in the health & wellbeing industry in the UK and Finland, we wanted to combine our passions and knowledge to introduce the potency of the Finnish flora to the UK.
The name Kotka Living is derived from the hometown of one of our founders, Natalia. Kotka is a little city on the south coast of Finland, surrounded by sea, nature and the beautiful Finnish archipelago. We want to bring the feeling of being immersed in pure Finnish nature to our customers in the UK.
For us, it is important that all of our products are of the highest possible quality, of natural source and, of course, are beautiful.
Co-Founder & Nutritionist
Natalia is a qualified Nutritionist and a student of Nutritional Therapy. She has been working in the field of health and wellbeing since 2013. Natalia moved to the UK with her British partner in 2016 and has been longing to introduce the wonderful range of Finnish natural products to the UK since arriving. Natalia likes foraging for wild herbs, berries and mushrooms and making her own skin care products from natural ingredients, as well as traditional remedies from plants and roots. She spends most of her spare time either crafting, running or practising yoga. She firmly believes that crocheting should be considered a form of exercise!
Co-Founder & Naturopathic Nutritional Therapist
Penny was first introduced into the power of nutrition & the importance of nature by her mother, who was a Nutritional Therapist long before chia seeds became a popular health shop commodity. Penny’s education led her in the direction of performing arts, film and television, but her connection to natural health was always apparent and then came to fruition in the form of a job in an organic health shop in Mid-Wales while at University. Now, after working in the health & wellbeing industry for over 10 years, Penny qualified as a Naturopathic Nutritional Therapist in 2016. Alongside nutrition, Penny’s interests include Transcendental Meditation, Ayurveda, dancing and fashion. If she’s not at home, you’ll probably find her in the aisles of a health food shop!
